The Langenberg Waldorf school
Within the school system, the
Langenberg Waldorf school has been
using five colour panels as part of its music
therapy program since 2002. The singing
and music therapist, Thomas Adam,
characterizes his experiences with metal
colour light therapy as follows: “The colour
light panels are a part of the music therapy
in two ways, in the process of which I
nearly always seek to find a way from an
experience of music, using instruments, to
the unfolding of the pupil’s own singing
voice.
In general use, they give an
emotional support. The yellow glass gives
a feeling of being surrounded by warmth
and light in the long period from October
to March, which in this area can really
seem grey. I often set the yellow glass
panel in the middle of the large window.
Against the grey of the clouded sky, it is as
though sunlight and warmth merge with
the musical tones. It has a mild, enlivening
and mood-lifting effect that does everyone
good.”
